The island of Maui offers more than 7,000 hotel rooms, ranging from small, charming hotels to fabulous luxury resorts with world-famous golf courses, restaurants, and spas. Many Maui hotels and resorts feature beachfront accommodations, and even if they are not situated directly on the beach, most offer rooms with gorgeous ocean views.
Beachfront hotels and resorts are generally more expensive than those that are not directly on the beach but just a short stroll away. Likewise, oceanfront or ocean view rooms are generally more costly than rooms with views of mountains, gardens, or golf courses—which can also be very lovely. Thus, there is a wide variation in room prices, depending upon location of the hotel or resort, view from the room, and time of year. High season—the busiest time of year on Maui—is generally winter and summer, with low season falling in summer and fall. Many Maui hotels and resorts offer discounted prices during low season.
