Top 10 Spas on Maui
A good pampering is essential on any vacation.
And if you’re headed to Maui, there’s no shortage of places to spoil yourself.
From the quiet slopes of Upcountry to the luxury enclave of Kapalua, plush spas around the island await. Find your bliss at one of these top-rated Maui spas.
1. The Spa at Four Seasons Maui
Like most things at the Four Seasons Maui, the resort’s swish spa goes over and above. Treatments here are centered around health and wellness, extending beyond the traditional offerings of massages and facials. Guests can meet with wellness experts for weight loss consultations and personalized nutritional analysis. Or, go for new-age healing sessions with astrologers, reiki masters, and acupuncturists. The resort has also partnered with Next|Health to provide a range of IV treatments.
But if you just need a good old-fashioned pampering, the Spa at Four Seasons Maui excels in that too. A spectrum of revitalizing facials are on offer. Although, the Hawaiian-inspired massages in the spa’s open-air, oceanfront huts might steal the show.
2. Willow Stream Spa
The Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Kea Lani was named the top spa in Hawaii by Travel and Leisure readers several years in a row. While many resort spas attempt to tap into the healing nature of the islands, Willow Stream Spa’s effort is thorough. The spas walls are adorned with art by local Hawaiian artists. The lounge area features showers that simulate different types of Hawaiian rain and a mud bar with locally sourced clay. In addition, several of the spa’s signature journeys use Hawaiian healing techniques that can be traced back to ancient times. The most noteworthy is the Welina Journey— featuring a ti leaf energy clearing, a Paakai sea salt scrub on a state-of-the-art Vichy table, and infrared light treatment, culminating with a Lomi Lomi massage.
3. Spa Grande
At 50,000 square feet, Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea is the largest spa in Hawaii. The facility boasts 40 treatment rooms, multiple saunas, Japanese Furo baths, and a hydrotherapy circuit. And much like the rest of the Grand Wailea, the Spa Grande’s interior is dripping in elegance. The lobby alone is awe-inspiring— every inch of the palatial room is blanketed in Italian marble, a regal statue towers behind the front desk, and a Venetian chandelier that probably costs more than my house hangs in the middle of it all. The luxe treatments live up to the spa’s glory. Guests can book a Hawaiian Healing package: a half-day experience that combines Hawaiian massage techniques and island-inspired ingredients for total rejuvenation.
The Spa Grande is currently undergoing renovations. The Grand Wailea welcomes guests to their new spa concept, Mohalu by Spa Grande, while spa facilities undergo enhancements.
4. Ho’omana Spa
Ho’omana Spa is a soothing retreat tucked in the hills of Upcountry Maui. Located on a tranquil property on Piiholo Road near Makawao, Ho’omana Spa features four treatment rooms, a botanical garden, and a bathhouse. This top-rated day spa is centered around Hawaiian healing. Headed by native Hawaiian Jeana Iwalani Naluai and her husband Justin, Ho’omana brings traditional Hawaiian medicine into a modern spa setting. Services include Hawaiian massage therapies like Lomi Lomi and hot stone massages, as well as traditional healing rituals. The grounding Aina Spa Ritual commences by selecting medicinal native herbs from the garden, followed by an infused bath, clay body masque, and closes with a hot stone massage.
5. Spa Montage
The Spa Montage effortlessly integrates Hawaii’s tropical environment into all aspects of its luxe treatments— and every inch of the place is steeped in island-style elegance. The spa is spread over five acres of oasis-like grounds and features facilities like a eucalyptus-infused steam room, cedar sauna, and infinity pool. A collection of outdoor treatment rooms open to sea breezes and manicured gardens of bamboo and ginger.
Guests can choose from an extensive range of personalized treatments, from Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage to lavish couples experiences. Wellness classes and complete salon services are also offered.
6. Ritz Carlton Spa
Heaven and earth meet at the tranquil Ritz Carlton Spa. The spa underscores Hawaiian healing practices and utilizes botanicals and herbs grown in the resort’s garden. Indulge in the Pohaku Wela hot stone massage, which incorporates warm volcanic stones, or go for the Tropical Awa Nui Journey: a full body sugar exfoliation and body wrap followed by a Lomi Lomi massage and foot treatment. The spa facilities also spotlight Hawaii’s striking natural beauty, featuring treatment rooms framed by tropical foliage, a whirlpool tucked against a lava rock wall, and a relaxation garden.
7. Maui’s Best Massage and Spa
Maui’s Best Massage is locally owned and operated with two locations in Kihei and Lahaina. This locally-loved spa features a variety of massage services, facial treatments, waxing, and maternity treatments, performed by caring local professionals. In addition, hardworking couples can opt for a couples massage— one of the spa’s most popular packages.
Maui’s Best Massage also features a selection of hand-made local jewelry in their bright and airy lobby, as well as a collection of skin care products. Outcall massage services are available as well.
8. Awili Spa Andaz
The Awili Spa at the Andaz offers guests a unique, tailor-made experience. This apothecary-style spa is a reimagined take on the Japanese spa experience. Before treatments, estheticians customize spa products using oils and Hawaiian herbs to match the needs of each guest. The spa itself is sleek and minimalist, with ocean-view treatment rooms and pedicure stations, relaxation rooms stocked with local snacks, a sauna, steam-mist wall, and plunge pool.
Couples seeking a romantic experience will enjoy the five-hour Unite package, which includes Hawaiian aromatherapy, a couples wrap and massage, couples manicure and pedicure, and lunch in a poolside cabana.
9. Heavenly Spa Westin
Aptly named, the Heavenly Spa at the Westin is a tranquil escape. The facilities boast a full-service salon, saunas, whirlpools, steam rooms, and numerous treatment rooms, including a hydrotherapy room. Opt for a Lomi Lomi massage in a private beachfront cabana, just steps from the rolling surf at Kaanapali Beach. The spa features several CBD therapies for further relaxation, including a full-body CBD treatment. After treatment, guests can retreat to the adults-only, ocean-view relaxation room, outfitted with plush loveseats and a plunge pool.
10. Spa at Black Rock
The Spa at Black Rock is one of Kaanapali’s premier day spas. Nestled against Pu’u Keka’a— Black Rock— in the Sheraton Resort, this boutique spa invites visitors to embrace relaxation and Hawaiian healing energy. The spa features a sizable selection of massage therapies, spa and skin treatments, and salon services.
Try the Poha Berry Body Wrap, which utilizes Hawaiian poha berries, cucumber, and aloe. Post-treatment, further unwind in one of the spas jacuzzis or outdoor suites.
